Gosling said it was his view that Armstrong’s moon walk, “transcended countries and borders,” according to quotes printed in the Telegraph, reportedly from a press conference at the Venice Film Festival. “I think this was widely regarded in the end as a human achievement [and] that’s how we chose to view it,” Gosling reportedly said. “I also think Neil was extremely humble, as were many of these astronauts, and time and time again he deferred the focus from himself to the 400,000 people who made the mission possible.”

  1. Ryan Gosling, this is a defining moment in HISTORY. That flag is as much a part of history as Armstrong is.

You forget that the whole reason why America went to the moon was because it part of the Space Race. It was a competition between The U.S. and the U.S.S.R. to see who could make it farther.

The Flag marked the end of the Space Race and America’s win over the Soviets. And it wasn’t just Neil Armstrong but EVERYONE in the America who was backing him. It was a combined effort that the whole country was watching in celebration. This was America at our strongest.

This is like making a WWII movie about the battle of London and leaving out Winston Churchill’s speech.
